Aga Khan Foundation Canada: Committed to Breaking the Cycle of Poverty
Dedicated to ending the cycle of poverty, Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC) stands as a global force in development, recognized as a registered Canadian charity. Since 1980, their impactful efforts have uplifted millions of lives in Africa and Asia. Collaborating closely with the Government of Canada and various Canadian institutions, AKFC strives for positive change.
Teaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Through Art
In pursuit of this mission, AKFC has initiated the educational project “Teaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Through Art.” Each toolkit within this endeavor revolves around a lesson plan, delving into specific United Nations (UN) SDGs. The unique lens of art and artifacts from the Aga Khan Museum adds a rich perspective to these lessons, making them both informative and engaging.
Aga Khan Museum: A Hub of Cultural Significance
Transitioning to the realm of culture, the Aga Khan Museum (AKM) plays a pivotal role, showcasing and preserving art from historically significant Muslim civilizations and contemporary Muslim communities worldwide.
Empowering Educators for Global Citizenship
Central to AKFC’s outreach strategy is a commitment to engaging Canadian educators. This involves fostering a deeper understanding of global issues and international development, while simultaneously arming educators with tools and strategies. These resources empower them to guide their students towards active global citizenship.
